I would like to warn other expatrtaite workers from Uk or Europe who may believe they have a worldwide health insurance policy from Interglobal, who operate from Farnham in the UK, but who subsequently transfer their policies to their local UAE underwriter/broker Al Ain Ahlia Insurance.
Interglobal UK states in all their correspondence and policy documents which they send customers (including the claim forms) that they are "Authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority UK. Registered Number: 3554885, FSA Number: 312279 England".
However, Al Ain Ahlia distances themselves from such FSA scrutiny whenever a disputed claim situation arises or there are any complaints on their services or products. Al Ain Ahlia however continue to use the above FSA compliance message in all of their correspondences.
Interglobal UK then distances themselves from any notion the customer has a "worldwide" policy with Interglobal and refuses to handle any such claims that the customer submits for health care treatment which has been obtained in the UAE and just refers you back to Al Ain Ahlia.
This typical "piggy in the middle" tactic which frsutrates customers and is deliberately intended to avoid any payouts needs to be stopped.
The only way is to send any claim complaints to the Financial Ombudsman in the UK although in UAE no such protest channel exists.
